What you will see & do

Meet your guide on Split’s main promenade, the Riva, in the early morning for 3-hour drive to Bosnia and Herzegovina. While inside the comfortable air-conditioned coach, relax, chat with fellow travelers and learn about the history and culture of the places you’ll be visiting on this exciting day trip. And don’t forget your passport. Once in Medjugorje, visit the shrine to Virgin on Apparition Hill. Ever since 24 July, 1981 when six children claimed they were visited by the Virgin Mary, Medjugorje, which means ‘between the hills,’ has been a major Catholic pilgrimage sight. Depending on the timing, attend a church service in St. James Church, relax in the peaceful Garden of Contemplation or sit down at a local restaurant for a hearty lunch (at own expense). After, meet up with your guide again, hop in the coach and commence the hour-long ride to Mostar. Once in town, stroll the streets, taking in the colorful and dynamic atmosphere of this ancient town, stopping to admire the Mosque of Mostar and the famous Turkish House. And don’t miss the bridge, of course. The bridge was destroyed in the wars of the 1990s but rebuilt in 2004. Watch as local daredevils dive off of the bridge into the Neretva River below. Then head back to the coach for the drive back to Split where the trip ends at the original starting point.
